County Fair

Cooper had his first trip to the County Fair today. We got to spend the day with our best friends from playgroup. The kids had a great time, and Cooper adored the petting zoo. He would pet each animal and then start cracking up, and then proceeded to sit and try to ride each one. Luckily none of the animals seemed to mind. Myself on the other hand forgot how allergic I am to animals and had the worst allergy attack. It was worth it to see how much fun he had...

Cooper goes to playschool

Our little Cooper is 20 months now and has a full schedule this Fall. He started "Playschool" , a mommy and me program through the city, which is an hour on Tues. and Th., we are finally back at Stroller Strides M-W-F, and he has MyGym on Fridays, and Bouncing Babies through the library on Mondays. He loves all of his activities and is very social. It is so sweet to see him taking directions from another grown up and sitting on his little letter on the carpet. He's not that into the crafts but will sit for a second- literally!- and dab a bit of paint on something. He loves the teacher, Ms. Heather, and really enjoys circle time , finger plays and songs, and the bubbles at the end. Our little boy is growing up so much the last few weeks. His vocabulary has literally doubled, lots of 2-3 word sentences, and follows directions so much better. He really understands everything. However the terrible 2's have come a bit early and he yells "NO", throws everything, and has been known to hit when mad. Oh Lord, here we go again!!! At least I know now it's a stage. Most of the time he is really a sweet happy boy and gives lots of love, and has a laugh that will melt your heart and make you start cracking up. Today I caught him playing with his stuffed animals, and giving each one drinks from his sippy cup while he held them. It was adorable!! He still loves Elmo, and our entire family knows the cd (we have to listen to in the car every time we drive) word for word!! Can't believe he will be 2 in a few months- wow!

Labor Day weekend

We had a crazy busy last weekend of summer! Jeff and I had a date night, Jaelyn celebrated her 4th bday, and we went to UCLA's first football game of the season and rooted our hearts out! It was a great game and we WON, and had a lot of fun. Needless to say, we were out way too late for school starting the next morning. It was a crazy rushed morning, of course we were late! The school is 20-30 min. away depending on traffic and then you couldn't get in the parking lot for another 10 minutes, I was so frazzled!!! Finally the boys made it to their classrooms. Griffin has Mr. Jasper, who is awesome. I met him my first time touring the school last year. Griffin will do so well with him, I'm excited! Holden has Mrs. Wynia who is blond and young, she reminds us of his former teacher, Mrs. Landorf, whom he had a major crush on in 1st grade! She seems very sweet. It was so different for me, it was overwhelming with the hundreds of kids and the big campus, I didn't know where anything was. We were at our old school for 5 years and I knew everyone. Being "new" felt so weird. But it is such a blessing. The boys loved their first day and their new school, and were happy as can be. I'm sure it's going to be a great year!
